As a leading academic society in Taiwan, the Taiwan Association for Sociology of Education is hosting an international conference for researchers and practitioners to exchange and share their research findings, experiences and theoretical perspectives. Targeting this purpose, the 2009 Asian-Pacific Forum on Sociology of Education will be held on 6th, 7th and 8th May 2009 in Tainan, a historic city with great beauty and a rich cultural heritage. This Forum focuses on беSocial Change and Educational Reform', covering six themes as follows:
1. Current Trends in Sociology of Education in Asia
2. Globalization, Localization and Education
3. Population and Education
4. Social Change and Curriculum/Pedagogy Reforms
5. Cultures, Values and the Reform of Educational Institutions
6. Ethnicity and Identity
This Forum is being organized by Professor Tien-Hui Chiang, the chairperson of the Department of Education, National University of Tainan and Secretary-General of the Taiwan Association for Sociology of Education.
